Steven E. Knapp

Steven E. Knapp has been a civil trial lawyer in Washington since 1987, with an emphasis in commercial insurance defense and construction law. Steve is a partner with Floyd & Pflueger, P.S. and has been with the firm since early 2002.

Steve has conducted several jury trials and bench trials, and well over 100 arbitrations and mediations. He has two reported cases: State v. Smith, 66 Wn. App. 825, 832 P.2d 1366 (1992) and State v. Walton, 67 Wn. App. 127, 834 P.2d 624 (1992); and one unpublished case, Premier Design v. NW Cascade, Court of Appeals Div. II, Cause Number 30525-9-II. Smith is the first reported case in Washington to admit into evidence a facsimile document as an original.

After graduating from the University of Washington in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Steve worked in the private sector for several years, including commercial salmon fishing and construction. He graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1987 with Certificates in Natural Resources Law, and Ocean and Coastal Law. He is a member of the state and federal courts of Washington, the Washington State Bar Association, and the King County Bar Association.

In 2003, Steve completed a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Cedar River Watershed (Seattle's municipal water source), which helped fund construction of a Regional Education Center that provides an educational forum for over 30,000 students annually.

Steve enjoys skiing, kayaking, running, and home remodeling.
